I know pretty much everything about solar. I tell you what I know for a fee.
I can specify and source equipment, design systems, provide commissioning walkthroughs, whatever.

Purchasing solar, with or without backup battery storage, is a major investment. When you sit down with a sales person to negotiate, make sure you know what the system they're proposing is really worth. The money you'll save by knowing how solar is priced can save hundreds of times what you'll pay for consultation, and that's only a small part of the value that TerraVolt can offer. Check out a partial list of the subjects we can cover, and see how we can help!

System Sizing and General Consultation

If you're just getting started, we can help you answer the basic questions: How much solar do I need? How much can I produce? How much battery storage do I need? Can it power the whole house? etc.

System Upgrades

Thinking of adding a battery backup to an existing solar system? Want to expand your system? Move it to a new address? We can explain how all of this works and provide the right gear for your addition.

Solar Designs and Plan Sets

We produce submission-ready one-line diagrams and complete solar plan sets of superb quality for every U.S. jurisdiction and/or utility. For you installers out there: Yes, they'll be correct. No, they won't be design-farm prices. Each oneline and planset is drawn from scratch with equipment, code reference, and calculations made specifically for your project: No cut and paste. One-lines start at $1200. Plan sets start at $4800. Prices negotiable after design patterns are established for repeat customers. Engineering available upon request.

Project Management

If you're planning to connect your system to the grid, know your rights and the pitfalls of interconnection. If you're a DIY installer, but want to backfeed the grid, we can guide you through the process of interconnection agreements, permits, and even offer custom project management contracts and/or permit packages.

Off-Grid and DIY services

With years of experience designing, installing, commissioning and supporting homeowners with off-grid and DIY (homeowner built) systems, we are deeply qualified to guide you through whatever snag might be holding up your project: or to give you a running start on a new one!

Independent Commissioning

We offer a full suite of independent testing, verification, commissioning, monitoring, and support contracts on existing systems.

Technical Support

We have well over a decade of experience with Enphase, SolarEdge, Magnum, Outback, Schneider, Sol-Ark, Luxpower, SMA, MPP, Growatt, and many more. Whether it's a 12, 24, 48, or 400v battery system: Grid-tied, Off-grid, Wind or Hydro integrated- you name it: we have the know-how to get it up and running.

AHJ/Utility Services

We also offer NEC 690, 705-706 training to inspectors, plan review departments, and utility interconnection/DER specialists on a contract or engagement basis. Topics include residential solar inspection red flags and guidelines, practical grounding requirements of modern transformerless inverter systems, the shifting landscape of RSD, and battery system verification for residential interconnections.
